“Technical Assistance for Development of a Strategy for Alignment with Common Market Organisation (CMO) Requirements” second High Level Seminar

Within the scope of “Technical Assistance for Development of a Strategy for Alignment with Common Market Organisation (CMO) Requirements” project, second High Level Seminar was held on 8th of November, 2018 in Holiday Inn Hotel, Ankara.

The aim of the seminar was to brief high level officials from the relevant stakeholders on the results of the project, particularly the details of the Strategy Paper for gradual adoption of EU legislation on CMO by the accession and possible impacts of adoption of EU market rules.

Ms. Aylin Çağlayan Özcan, General Director of European Union and Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry welcomed all participants of the seminar. In her opening speech General Director underlined that the main goal of the seminar is to share information about the progress achieved and to inform participants about the Strategy Paper prepared with the contributions of various actors. Ms. Aylin Çağlayan Özcan advised all relevant ministries and institutions to use recommendations developed during the Project implementation when making important decisions regarding the CMO mechanisms.

Ms. Ruzica Gelo, Team Leader introduced participants with the project achievements.

Mr. Sebastian Balcerak, expert from Poland made a presentation of the Strategy Paper and steps to be taken in order to reach the alignment with the EU rules.

The presentation was followed by active discussion of the participants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, related institutions and representatives from NGOs.
